Ratelists: Hour rate and fixed rate

Set how much is paid or charged when a rule applies: an amount per hour, or one fixed amount.

Where you set the rate

Every rule has a unit and a rate. The unit decides how much is counted (for example 8 worked hours). The rate decides how much money each unit is worth.

  1. Choose the unit, for example Worked hours.
  2. Choose the rate type: Hour rate or Percentage rate.
  3. Enter the amount.
  4. Choose the component, for example "Basic Hour Wage".

Wagelists and pricelists work the same way. In a wagelist the rate is what you pay the staff member, in a pricelist it is what you charge the client.

Hour rate

The amount is paid or charged for every hour of the unit.

Example: Worked hours, Hour rate €20. The staff member works 8 hours → 8 × €20 = €160.

The number of hours comes from the unit:

  • Worked hours and Planned hours count the whole shift.
  • Overtime counts only the hours after the planned end.
  • Custom units count only the hours that fall into them, for example night hours.

The system counts precise minutes, then rounds them based on the rounding settings.

Fixed rate

When you choose the Flat rate unit, the amount is a fixed sum. It is added once per attendance, it is not calculated based on hours. The rule shows fix next to the amount.

Example: Role = Staff leader → Flat rate €15. A staff leader gets €15 per shift, whether they work 4 or 12 hours.

Good to know

  • Each rule has its own rate and component. If several rules apply to one attendance, their amounts add up, unless you use priorities.
  • With a minimum on the unit (for example Min. 4h), the hour rate is paid for at least that many hours.
