This article explains how to cancel or delete jobs within the system. It provides step-by-step instructions for both actions, detailing when to use each option and their effects on system records.
In OnSinch you can cancel or delete each particle of the project hierarchy:
- whole order (and all jobs, shifts and positions in it)
- job (and all shifts and positions in it)
- shift (and all positions in it)
- position on the shift
Cancelling ❌
When a client calls off the whole order or just some part of it you can cancel it. The original schedule will stay in the system in case it should be restored or for historical purposes - to keep records about what was originally ordered and planned.
Cancelling can be done in the builder editor via right click on each particle or the red icon on the top of the page.
From the order page detail, the whole order can be cancelled under ''more options'':
Cancelled positions are marked as cancelled and the lines are crossed for better visibility.
🔔If there are staff members signed up for cancelled slots, they can be notified automatically that the work was cancelled - you can decide in each case.
Cancelled positions can be found in Work > Jobs and shifts > Cancelled positions. Orders can be filtered by the status ''cancelled''.
🔄Cancellation was cancelled? You can easily restore cancelled shifts and orders the same way as you cancelled them.
Removing 🗑️
Orders, jobs, shifts and positions can be completely deleted from the system, as long as they are not closed, in the builder editor via a right click on a selected particle or using the red bin icon on the top of the page.
It is not the usual scenario, but in case you need to delete a closed order, you first need to reopen it or delete the respective final invoice. In the same way, if you want to delete a closed shift, you first need to reopen that shift. All attendances related to deleted shifts will be deleted as well.
⚠️Be careful with deleting records as the delete action is not reversible and deleted items are not stored anywhere. ⚠️
