Standby position can be used as a precaution to make sure you have a sufficient number of staff members for the job, the client is happy, and the shift planning is less stressful.
Standby is someone who shows up to the event and waits if everybody attends. If a signed-up staff member doesn’t show up, the standby will be ready to work and will replace them. If all the signed-up staff members show up, the standby can leave the event.
Standbys are indicated in the system by a blue icon. You can also see the number of standbys on a shift separately.
The settings for standbys:
1. Don't forget to set a wage record for the standby role.
- Usually, they will get a small fee for arriving at the location and being ready to work. You should have a wage record for every role you are using in the system
- If you don't want to set a specific wage, create a zeroed record for each profession and then edit it manually in the builder to make sure the system will not take a different wage record.
2. Set the statutory allowances in Settings > Effects for the standbys.
- For cases of night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

- Standbys are available when planning the shift, either from the
builder or a new job form. You will plan them as any other position. - Staff members will sign up for this position as usual and will be informed about the purpose of this position.
- The standby role is not included and can't be set in the pricelist.
