Staff members - sign-offs from shifts

In this article we will describe methods and processes of removing staff members from shift attendance from staff and admin point of view

When there is a situation you need a staff member to sign out of the shift and want to have it properly tracked via OnSinch, lets go through a few ways how to do it from staff and admin perspectives

Staff member wants to sign-off the shift

  • Staff members are permitted to sign off from a shift only within the preset time limit before actual start of the shift. This time frame is configured globally within the Agency Settings.
  • Staff member can not sign off from locked or hidden shift by themselves

How admins can sing-off staff member from the shift

  • Regular sign-off without any type of penalty, anytime before the actual shift
  • Regular sing-off with a penalty in form of a financial penalty or rating deduction (for more info about Penalty systems here )
  • Regular sing-off categorised under one of the configured types with an optional private note. Administrators first define their own set of sign-off types — such as “No show”, “Late cancellation” or "Medical" — under a new Sign-off Types section in agency settings.

This new sign-off system brings formal, auditable tracking to the process of removing staff members from shift attendance. Each recorded sign-off captures the worker, the shift, the chosen type, and any associated penalty, creating a clear paper trail.

  • Sign-off history is visible on the staff member’s profile in a dedicated Sign-offs tab, and a system-wide Sign-offs index page provides a filterable overview of all recorded sign-offs. Batch operations are also supported — administrators can sign off multiple workers from the shift builder in a single action.
