Once onsite, there could be many ways to mark standby's attendance based on whether they just showed up or if they stepped in and worked.
It is based on how you do the attendance records. If you are using onsite presence and the attendance is marked by a lead worker, or if you are using a clock-in.
Lead worker onsite
There are two ways to mark the standby's attendance. Once the standby is needed for any other position, the lead worker has to assign them an adequate position if there is more than one on the shift, and mark them as working. In the other case, they will record their arrival and departure.
1. They will mark the arrival of the standby by clocking them in.
- If the standby is not needed -> They will clock them out.
- If the standby is needed -> They will assign them to the position and mark them as working.
2. Once the shift is over, they will clock them out normally with other workers on the shift.
Clock-in
1. Standby arrives at the event.
2. They log into the system and clock-in.
3. Once they are ready to leave (everybody showed up or the shift ended), they will clock out.
In case of a self-clock-in, it is up to the administrator to change the staff member's role in the closing form.
💡Let your staff members know that they can leave you a clock-out note and inform you about how the shift went.
